Clever combinations
"Combine…" is what fictional detective Sherlock Holmes usually says when brooding over highly complicated criminal cases. Detective-like combination skills, however, are also demanded for many tricky applications. With the development of the transmission element AC-T 1,5 in conjunction with an electromagnetic clutch, REICH managed to create an example of a clever combination option.
"Designed to Customer" or just D2C is the new recipe of success for Dipl.-Ing. Herwarth Reich GmbH in Bochum. "Instead of providing our customers with simple catalogue goods, we supply them with couplings which are developed and tailor-made to their needs", explains Sales Manager Ulrich Bentele. "A good example of this is the highly flexible flywheel coupling ARCUSAFLEX AC-T 1,5 with taper bush which we also offer in combination with electromagnetic couplings."
The AC-T 1,5 was specifically designed by REICH for lower-power combustion engines of up to 60 kW: The highly flexible transmission element not only connects machines and combustion engines to SAE connections but also to special connections. The fact that this newcomer can be easily adapted to the most different mounting conditions is one of its decisive advantages. The highly flexible transmission elements operates without torsional backlash, are free from residual torque in the disengaged condition, and operates optionally in the right or left direction of rotation. This is why the AC-T 1,5 is, for example, ideally suited for use in municipal vehicle drives where it switches hydraulic units and other auxiliary aggregates. It goes without saying that other sizes of the ARCUSAFLEX series can also be supplied with electromagnetic clutch (torques up to 3000 Nm) upon the customer's request.
